Marian discovered photography when taking a college class in her late 30’s.  This led to a 2 year stint at Ohio Institute of Photography in Dayton, Ohio. Later she opened her own studio as a portrait photographer also working with companies who needed advertising, landscape or business portraits.

She moved to Healdsburg, California in 1987 and built a studio to continue her photography business which then began specializing in portraits of children, families and weddings. She also worked as the photographer for the local newspaper and the Chamber of Commerce. After 25 years she retired and moved to Easton in 2020 just in time for the pandemic to hit so she is hoping to return to a normal life sometime soon.
