A traditional still life consisting of an onion (o), garlic (g), shallot (s), and a tomato (t). The photo was accomplished through a process called "sculpting with light." Light sculpted images are not manipulated digitally. Instead, they take on their dimensional look by the simple choices made in the application of light, and the control of where and to what degree the light is visible in the final image. The photograph may require several hours of shooting and several additional hours of post processing, which, when done properly, yields a photograph with lights and shadows that create depth and reveal texture, form, and a poignant center of interest.
