Winter Tree at High Tide
This sycamore tree hangs out over Tuckahoe Creek at high tide. Tuckahoe creek is tidal at this spot and has just finished flowing backwards. The high tide covers the ancient but not very rotted posts of an old wharf where the steamboats came from Baltimore to land goods for sale in the small country stores that were located at intersections of dirt roads in the area. After the new deliveries were off loaded, farmers slaves loaded the produce onto the foredeck for transport on the return run back to Baltimore.
Printed on Silver Pearl Metallic canvas and framed without glass in black hardwood..
